Senator Film Produktion

Senator Film Produktion has been producing and co-producing a regular stream of top movies since being established in 1987 and since it’s first own production “Manta, der Film” in 1991

These include films such as “Aimée und Jaguar”, “Das Wunder von Bern”, “Was nicht passt wird passend gemacht”, “Werner, das muss kesseln” and “Vollidiot”. In 2009, Senator Film Produktion was able to carry on this string of successes with Andreas Dresen’s comedy “Whisky mit Wodka”.

In January 2010, Senator Group positioned itself in the movie region North Rhine-Westphalia with Senator Film Köln.
Senator managed to obtain the services of Ulf Israel, one of the most highly regarded film producers in NRW, as its Managing Director. He is currently preparing three international productions that will be filmed in North Rhine-Westphalia and the rest of Germany, including “The Danish Girl” starring Nicole Kidman and the famous director Lasse Hallström.

We are therefore pursuing our strategy of increasing our position as a production company on the German market and expect both measures to generate new momentum for the entire Group, but especially for Senator Film Verleih.
