With the founding of Senator Home Entertainment GmbH in August of 2006, Senator Entertainment AG Media Corporation took on its own marketing and distribution of film licenses on DVD and next-generation formats, as well as future download and online usages.

From day one, Senator Home Entertainment got off to a flying start with a whole number of Top 10 and Top 3 titles in its very first year. Of particular note, Fantasy Gothic release "Pan's Labyrinth" by Guillermo del Toro was issued in 4 different editions, capturing the No. 1 spot on DVD charts.

Senator Home Entertainment offers a widely diversified and multifaceted library, ranging from highly commercial action and horror hits such as Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" and local comedy hits like "Vollidiot", all the way to top arthouse fare such as "Paris je t'aime" and quality docs like "Pool of Princesses".

Senator Home Entertainment very quickly recognized the promise and potential of the high-def market. Ever since 2008, Senator has released every major title on Blu-ray as well as DVD, achieving major successes with "Death Proof ", " 1408", "The Mist", "Planet Terror" and "El Orfanato".
