Senator Entertainment AG achieves growth target and gains revenues amounting to 68.37 Mio. Euros
Berlin, 30th April 2008 – The Senator Entertainment AG (General Standard, ISIN DE000A0BVUC6, Symbol: SMN1) nearly doubled its total revenues in the business year 2007 and thus reached the aspired growth target.
The revenues increased to an amount of 68.37 Mio. Euros during the period under report, after amounting to 34.77 Mio. Euros in the previous year. The EBIT according to IFRS improved greatly and rose to 1.75 Mio. Euros compared to prior year´s EBIT of 0.07 Mio. Euros. For this reason, the EBIT-margin increased to 2.6% (previous year: 0.2%). The investor´s share of profits was nearly balanced, accounting to -0.1 Mio. Euros (previous year: -0.01 Mio. Euros). This implies an amount of -0.01 Euros (previous year: 0.00 Euros) per share. The corporation´s equity capital before minority interest amounting to 12.38 Mio. Euros remained unchanged compared to the figure of the prior year (12.38 Mio. Euros) This means an equity quota of 13.7%.
For the Senator group the business year 2007 was all about a consistant continuation of the commenced strategy for growth and the connected diversification of the operational business segments. In the main segment film distribution the number of releases was raised from 6 movies in the previous year to 24 movies. This increase is also reflected in the increase of the intangible assets from 26.07 Mio. Euros to 40.53 Mio. Euros; the intangible assets being mainly film licenses. In addition to this, the activities in the divisions Home Entertainment, Film Productions and Television were significantly extended or completely newly implemented. Furthermore the business activities of the Senator group at an international level have been accelerated and for this purpose Senator has agreed to an extensive co-operation with the major French distribution and production firm Wild Bunch.
For the business year 2008 the corporate group accelerates a further extension of its activities and thus a growth in total revenues and earnings. The corporation plans to reach a sales volume of at least EUR 85 Mio. and company earnings (EBIT) slightly above one million. For the year 2009 a business development assuming a double digit amount in million in sales growth and a further increase of the EBIT is forecasted.

The Senator Entertainment AG (Berlin) is one of the leading independent media companies in Germany. Together with its subcompanies it works in the fields of movie production, distribution, TV and music. Senator produced award-winning movies like THE MIRACLE OF BERN (German title: Das Wunder von Bern) or THE EXPERIMENT (German title: Das Experiment). Since November 2005 the principal stockholders are the media-manager and lawyer Helge Sasse and the filmproducer Marco Weber who lives in Los Angeles; both of them also are managing directors of the corporation. Other strategic investors of Senator Entertainment include corporate consultant Roland Berger and the chairman of the supervisory board of the Senator Entertainment AG, Thomas Middelhoff. In April 2008 the Senator-film BE KIND REWIND was launched in German cinemas and also was the closing film of this years´s Berlinale film festival.
